My colleague Paul Daly found this very interesting and humourous case about assent and unilateral contract.
A lawyer defending a guy for murder states on TV that he`ll give $1 million to anyone who could prove how his client could have done it. A law student sees the TV show and takes up the challenge -- and just about does it.
Was there an offer for a unilateral contract? or was it an obvious jest? As interesting discussion ensues.
It might just find its way into my exam next term.
The case is KOLODZIEJ v. MASON (M.D. Fla. December 18, 2014).
